Todd works as a correspondent providing reports for The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer in Washington for CNN based, he began working here in 1987 and has been working there for 32 years and 8 months, he has covered different important events on-site such as the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida and the Capital Gazette newspaper shooting in Annapolis, Maryland.

In the network’s coverage of the historic 2017 hurricane season, he played an important role, reporting on the ground from several cities throughout the height of destruction. Additionally, he reported majorly on the mass shootings in Las Vegas and Texas.

He began working for CNN as a copywriter for morning programming and then took off production responsibility in the field and for long-form reports, he also chipped into coverage of eight different states, covering the primaries and caucuses for the presidential race in 2016  and also America’s Choice 2016. he has covered numerous events such as the Haiti earthquake in 2010, the tsunami in Japan in 2011, the massive earthquake, the death of Freddie Gray in 2015, the superstorm in 2012, in addition, he was covering the shootings of police officers and the mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando on the ground in Baton Rouge, Louisiana July 2016.

He became a news producer based in Washington, D.C,  In 1993,  and later in 1997, he became an editorial producer for Larry King Live, He then moved in 2000 and became a senior producer, in the end becoming the senior producer for Wolf Blitzer Reports. He provided on-air reports in January 2004, While still working as a producer, and in 2016 he became an on-air correspondent.  Before coming to CNN, he worked as a reporter for Guam Cable TV in the Pacific Marianas Islands. Prior to this, he worked as a sports producer in Pittsburgh at WTAE-TV. His career started in Washington, D.C as a sports producer at WJLA-TV.
