Deborah James Career

Deborah used to work as a  deputy headteacher, for 15 years she led national research into growth mindsets in schools. Her life harden when she was diagnosed with stage 4, incurable bowel cancer, at the age of 35, she went through 24 rounds of chemotherapy and ten operations, she survived and still undergoes treatment and campaigns with national UK cancer charities.

She began a blog, ‘bowel babe’, a weekly column in the Sun online, Things Cancer Made Me Say, and an award-winning. She works as a presenter for the chart-topping podcasts ‘You, Me & the Big C’   for BBC’s Radio 5 Live and ‘The Good Stuff’, which she hosts.

Deborah has been sharing out her story on the highs and lows of living with cancer since March 2018 on together with Steve Bland and Lauren Mahon on the You, Me and the Big C podcast. She is British by nationality. Deborah earned a degree in Economics in 2004 from the University of Exeter.
