Julio began working as a correspondent of the NBC-Telemundo in 2011 in Mexico where he served in both English and Spanish. He was titled the newest anchor of the signature “Noticias Telemundo” evening newscast in 2021. On September 2, 2021, he became the principal anchor for the Spanish-language Telemundo’s evening news show that airs on weekdays at 6:30 p.m. ET.
He replaced José Díaz-Balart an award-winning Latino journalist, who stepped down as the program’s weekday anchor so as to host his own weekday MSNBC show called “José Díaz-Balart Reports,” which commenced on September 27, 2022. Before, Julio worked as the network’s late-night weekday newscast.
Currently, he reports across Telemundo’s news programs, special events coverage as well as breaking news. He started his career by working for Efekto TV in Mexico City as an anchor.
