She did her first on-air job was when she was schooling at the University of Missouri,  Steiner worked for a period of four years at KOMU-TV. She began working as a morning reporter and fill-in weather reporter.

At WCCO, CBS Minnesota, in September 2018. Steiner worked at Hasting Community Television as a sports reporter. And Sideline reporter, and at KFRU-radio, for a few years from 2007 to 2009 as a reporter prior.
