Larry O’Connor worked for The Shubert Organization from 1986 to 1999. He oversaw the renovation of the 2,100-seat theatre specifically to accommodate the American premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s SUNSET BLVD during his tenure as general manager of the Shubert Theatre, Los Angeles from 1`991 to 1999.

After Broadway’s Tony Awards, Larry assisted create the Ovation Awards, the competitive theatre awards in Los Angeles. O’Connor worked as president of the governing body for the awards, Theatre LA, the league of Los Angeles Theatres, and in 1994 and 1995, he also worked as executive producer of the awards show.

Shirley Sherrod filed suit against Andrew Breitbart, Larry O’Connor, and an unnamed third person for defamation in July 2011. For an undisclosed amount, the parties settled out of court, in October 2015. After the death of his friend, Andrew Breitbart, the site’s founder, O’Connor left Breitbart in December 2013.
